Open AIM® is our developer program that provides access to key developer tools to build applications and integrate powerful AIM features.
- AIM Presence - Make it easy to let others know that you're online and display your availability on your home page or anywhere on the Web. It's easy – add one line of HTML, and you're done.
- AIM Software Developer Kit (SDK) - Build a custom client, a plug-in, a bot, or integrate AOL’s AIM instant messaging functionality into your own software including presence, text messaging, file transfer, and audio/video communications.
- Web AIM - Our standards-based APIs allow you to access the Buddy List® feature, the sending and receiving of IMs, rich presence information, and more.
If you expect heavy usage of your application we suggest you contact us to talk about becoming an AIM partner. As a partner, we can help you build, deploy, and maintain custom clients, web-based IM services, plug-ins or other applications running on the AIM network.
As a developer, you have access to Open AIM to build your own applications. To get started using Open AIM you must register for a developer key. Once registered, you can build your application and submit it for review. Once approved, your application will be available to millions of AIM users via the Open AIM Gallery.
